A Software AG Case Study
The Department of the Registrar of Companies and Official Receiver (DRCOR) in Cyprus is the small but critical public office responsible for registering 430,000 business entities and protecting intellectual property. Facing a 2013 financial crisis, EU reform requirements and internal problems—outdated IT, paper-based processes, data gaps and slow turnaround—DRCOR needed a rapid public-administration transformation to improve service and meet international standards.
Working with Software AG (ARIS) and local partner Spirit Hellas, DRCOR ran workshops, mapped and re-engineered processes, and implemented automated workflows and organizational reforms. The program produced 800 models, defined 350 change requirements and modeled 100 processes, delivering major efficiency gains: company registration steps fell by 74%, IP renewal steps by up to 97%, turnaround times dropped, redundancies were eliminated, resources were optimized and customer satisfaction improved—efficiency improvements were reported at up to 100%.
