CSC Scandihealth improves healthcare quality with new systems

CSC Scandihealth, Denmark’s largest healthcare IT company, set out to become the national market leader in electronic patient records, retain the Nordic region as its home market, and evolve into a European “Centre of Excellence.” To achieve this it needed an effective, flexible development platform for standardized patient-record systems and evaluated multiple vendors before selecting a partner that offered responsive support and adaptable tools.

Using Software AG’s Adabas database and Natural development language, CSC Scandihealth built three major hospital information systems (GS, GSåben and OPUS, including OPUS patientforløb and OPUS Booking). The solutions—now used by about 70,000 users—delivered better coordination, higher care quality, shorter waiting times and strong user satisfaction, helping CSC secure the largest market share and long‑term, reliable operation with minimal further development.
