Creating an open infrastructure based on the webMethods product suite

Mondi Packaging Bags, a global leader in packaging solutions, faced a rapidly growing and heterogeneous IT landscape driven by frequent site acquisitions. With more than 20 different back-office systems across varied platforms and release levels, the company needed a way to connect all internal systems and customer procurement systems to a single global sales portal.

Using Software AG’s webMethods suite, Mondi created an open integration layer that links customer procurement, accounting, production planning (including SAP) and 42 production sites to the portal, supporting CPFR standards and XML-based data exchange. The result: faster, simpler procurement, real-time, transparent order and delivery status, higher productivity and customer satisfaction, hundreds of portal users, and a platform ready for deeper system-to-system integration and cost savings.
