Chevron, one of the world’s top three integrated energy companies with more than 64,000 employees, needed a centralized SAP® system and standardized master-data and process design to get more value from its business processes. The company also required business process intelligence and a governance framework to ensure high-quality material master data across its downstream operations.

Using the webMethods Operational Intelligence Platform and webMethods OneData for Master Data Management, Chevron implemented a centralized SAP environment covering 31 countries and 99% of downstream business, with 13 processes (92 sub-processes, 558 activities), 100 master data types and 6,000 users. The MDM hub enforces data governance and real-time updates to improve material master data quality, and new master data records now trigger internal workflows with external workflows to be handled via webMethods BPMS.
