A Software AG Case Study
Bonn‑Rhein‑Sieg University of Applied Sciences, a three‑campus institution near Bonn with about 7,500 students, needed to modernize its curriculum to meet the demands of the digital business world: attracting students, applying state‑of‑the‑art technologies, responding quickly to industry needs, and teaching theory through practical, market‑oriented projects in collaboration with the private sector.
To address this, the university partnered with Software AG University Relations and adopted the Integration Education Package (IEP) featuring webMethods. Students built a process‑driven campus management system that integrated multiple applications, gained hands‑on skills in SOA, BPMN and integration platforms, earned free certifications, and strengthened teamwork, while faculty benefited from ready‑to‑use teaching materials and reduced preparation time—resulting in a well‑received, sustainable industry‑academic collaboration.
