Case Study: 7-Eleven achieves reduced errors and faster turnaround with Software AG webMethods Integration Platform

A Software AG Case Study

Preview of the 7-Eleven Case Study

Automating the Demand Chain with Integrated Product Replenishment

7‑Eleven, the world’s largest convenience store chain with over 59,000 stores, needed to coordinate daily orders with hundreds of suppliers—many of them small- and medium-sized businesses without EDI capability. The company faced heavy manual processing of paper invoices and orders, costly data entry errors, and the need to flow transactions from a new supplier B2B portal into legacy mainframe and financial systems.

Using the webMethods Integration Platform as the integration backbone, 7‑Eleven connected the supplier portal to its legacy applications, supporting EDI, web forms and FTP-driven exchanges and converting transactions into mainframe-ready files. The project automated thousands of monthly invoices and order exchanges, synchronized supplier data with financial systems, reduced manual keying and errors, improved turnaround times and supply-chain visibility, and created a foundation for further automation and real‑time analytics.
