ARJIS, a division of the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG), is the regional justice information hub serving 81 agencies and more than 11,000 officers, adjudicators, investigators and analysts. Dependent on a legacy mainframe, ARJIS needed faster, more accurate real‑time integration, sharing and repurposing of criminal and justice data to improve public safety and usability across jurisdictions.

ARJIS implemented Software AG’s webMethods platform and consulting to move to a service‑oriented, process‑centric web solution with an enterprise service bus. By reusing existing logic and adding modern interfaces, alerts and standards‑based components, the project eliminated redundant data points, sped integration, increased data quality and accessibility, and cut mainframe maintenance costs by hundreds of thousands of dollars per month.
