Evonik Industries, a global specialty-chemicals group with operations in over 100 countries, needed faster, standardized process documentation to support its Tong Yi SAP rollout in China. Regional project teams, limited availability of key knowledge holders, and heavy training demands made it essential to reduce documentation and harmonization workshops, shorten familiarization times, and provide an easy-to-understand, web-accessible representation linked to SAP.

Evonik implemented the ARIS platform (ARIS Architect, ARIS for SAP, and ARIS Publisher) to document best-practice processes, link models to SAP Solution Manager, and publish a centralized process Web for training. The standardized repository improved communication across distributed teams, substantially cut documentation time and costs, shortened user familiarization, and strengthened business–IT integration for future SAP projects.
