Angostura Limited, the Caribbean maker of world‑leading bitters and rum with distribution in 164 markets, faced a slow, paper‑based sales order process that forced salespeople to print customer data, handwrite orders and reenter information into SAP back at the office. This created delays, errors and multiple manual handoffs across departments, limited field access to real‑time stock and account data, and hampered the company’s goals to reduce costs, speed order‑to‑receipt time and improve service quality.

Angostura implemented Software AG’s webMethods Mobile Suite with support from a Global Competency Center to deliver an iPad app integrated with SAP (via NetWeaver), offering offline capability, a digital catalog, customer‑specific pricing, electronic receipts and order submission directly to SAP. The mobile solution doubled order processing speed, cut processing costs by about 25%, increased sales‑team efficiency by ~20%, freed roughly 2,700 staff hours per year, reduced errors, strengthened customer relationships and eliminated much paper use.
