Allied Electronics, a long-established electrocomponents distributor and part of the Electrocomponents Group, needed to modernize its quote and sales processes across 70 branch offices. Their legacy RMS data on a VMS server and phone-based quote workflows were causing lost customer information, limited visibility into quotes and orders, and manual inefficiencies that blocked better sales tracking and decision-making.
Working with CONNX, Allied implemented a web‑based quote system using CONNX mainframe/data integration and ASP.NET forms to expose RMS data and support quote creation, approvals, inventory checks, credit checks, shipping flags and a contact database. The solution delivered immediate visibility and accountability for managers, reduced costly residential shipping errors, streamlined quote-taking, enabled the team to maintain the application in-house, and drove measurable efficiency gains and potential revenue increases across the organization.
