QTRS is the sole Australian distributor and service provider for Mitsubishi truck and trailer refrigeration units, supplying refrigeration, repairs and monitoring to the refrigerated transport sector. Faced with limited and outdated telematics, inexperienced drivers, and the need to differentiate its offering while protecting highly perishable cargo and reducing waste, QTRS needed real-time visibility and smarter servicing to win business and avoid costly spoilage.

QTRS deployed an STW telematics controller with the Cumulocity IoT platform (and built internal expertise) to enable live diagnostics, remote alerts, predictive maintenance and automated actions like defrosting and service reminders. The solution allowed rapid driver support and intervention—saving loads of produce (including a multi-thousand-dollar melon/cucumber delivery and a $180K strawberry shipment), reduced waste, increased unit sales and operator profits, and opened new service and asset-management opportunities.
