Softserve Helps Fortune 500 Healthcare Provider Implement Centralized Platform In 3000 Clinics With Google Spanner

SoftServe helped a Fortune 500 Healthcare Provider, the largest kidney care services provider in the U.S., address scaling and performance challenges in its centralized clinical platform used across 3,000 clinics. The customer needed a single application with centralized access, single sign-on, role-based workflows, reduced data redundancy, and reliable performance for a growing user and patient base, but its DB2-based, on-prem architecture could not meet expected SLA requirements.

SoftServe implemented a proof of concept to move the platform’s data and selected microservices from DB2 and private/on-prem infrastructure to Google Cloud and Google Spanner. The solution supported the company’s microservice, CQRS, and event-driven architecture, improving scalability, stability, and data integrity while helping validate a cloud-based approach for thousands of clinics, 200,000 patients, 100 million orders, and 57,000 users.
