Printing Planet, a leading printing company, worked with SoftServe to begin its smart factory transformation on Google Cloud. The company wanted to collect data from engines, compressors, and other factory equipment and move it to the cloud so it could improve decision-making, reduce costs, and enable predictive maintenance; before the project, it relied on cyclical maintenance and had no sensors installed.

SoftServe implemented an end-to-end edge-to-cloud solution using Google Cloud services such as Cloud IoT Core, Pub/Sub, Functions, ML Engine, BigQuery, Cloud Datastore, Cloud Storage, and Data Studio. In phase one, the team identified and deployed sensors, built the data and ML infrastructure, and created dashboards and reports, helping Printing Planet cut compressor energy use by 10%, raise overall equipment efficiency to 90%, and reduce wasted material by at least 50%.
