Data Point Extraction Using NLP

Global Management Consulting Company, one of “The Big Three” global consulting firms, needed a way to reduce the manual effort of gathering and structuring information from large volumes of private and public documents. Working with SoftServe, the company set out to automate daily data discovery, classification, and extraction across multiple source types.

SoftServe built an NLP-based solution with binary classification, matching, and named entity extraction services, delivered through a SharePoint-based web application that highlighted only the relevant data points for analysts. The system was trained on about 500,000 labeled rows, reached more than 75% accuracy across the services, and the proof of concept was validated over two months before a nine-month development phase continued to improve the platform.
