Multinational Professional Services Firm, one of the Big Four audit companies, needed a better way to manage rapidly growing unstructured data and reduce the risk and cost of excessive retention. Its ETL process was not standardized, data was stored in multiple structures, and the team lacked visibility, context, and a simple boxed solution for data governance.

SoftServe designed and implemented a Technically Assisted Classification (TAC) tool to collect metadata, classify files, and manage actions on data through a scalable web application with analytics and automation. Delivered in three releases—data scan, data classification, and operations on data—the solution improved storage governance, reduced maintenance cost, enabled defensible data disposition, and provided role-based benefits such as better compliance, lower risk, and improved search, resiliency, and data quality.
