Centuries old bank consolidates data on legacy systems with managed capacity service model

Europe Based Financial Services Providing Company, a top-ten European financial services provider with more than 200 years in banking, needed to build an ingestion pipeline to extract data from source systems and deliver it to GPDW so it could advance its Data-as-a-Service strategy. The goal was to give end users easier access to consolidated, higher-quality data and support better digital banking, asset management, and insurance services. SoftServe was brought in to help modernize the data flow across a highly complex legacy landscape.

SoftServe implemented a managed capacity service model and built a data processing and ingestion platform that migrated and consolidated data from around 1,000 legacy systems into a centralized Cloudera Hadoop platform. Working within the client’s DevOps and ITIL-based processes, SoftServe set up automated development, QA, release, maintenance, reconciliation, and continuous improvement workflows. The result was a KPI-driven, scalable ingestion process that improved data quality, supported gradual volume growth, optimized costs, and delivered transparent service levels for the client.
