A SoftServe Case Study

Preview of the Financial Holding Company Case Study

Architecture assessment Of banking portal

Financial Holding Company, a Fortune 1000 financial services firm and FDIC-insured bank operator, turned to SoftServe after a merger with a national bank with 70 retail branches created the need to assess an inherited banking portal. The company needed a full architecture review to understand the solution’s current state and identify gaps, with a particular focus on application security, architectural patterns, software structure, data isolation, and best practices.

SoftServe performed the assessment using ATAM and decision analysis methods, combining workshops, interviews, documentation reviews, code and architecture review, and quantitative metric analysis. SoftServe then delivered recommendations and an improvement roadmap that addressed identified risks and technical debt, helping the client avoid security, scalability, reliability, and performance issues; as a result, the client promoted the platform to production for public use and established it as a foundation for future banking product development.
