Clarient, a leading US provider of cancer diagnostic services, needed to launch a new in-house cytogenetics laboratory to replace outsourced testing and increase both profit and capacity. SoftServe was brought in to implement a solution for the new lab that would support detailed workflow tracking, fine-grained data management, and chain of custody for specimens and materials, built in line with Clarient’s SOA-based enterprise IT strategy.
SoftServe delivered the application in seven iterative releases, with dual QA cycles and production deployment after each iteration so end users could validate processes early and provide feedback. The solution automated cytogenetics workflow and patient record management, improved secure tracking of specimens and artifacts, and helped Clarient minimize time-to-market while enabling fast turnaround on issues reported by users.
