SkillDirector, a SaaS provider of the Self-Directed Learning Engine™ (SDLE), helps organizations close skill gaps through competency-based learning and role-based competency models. However, creating competency-based learning was a slow, manual process that could take 1–2 weeks per role, making onboarding new customers difficult and time-consuming. SkillDirector needed a way to scale learning-content mapping and reduce the effort required to support clients.
SoftServe implemented an AI-enabled mapping solution that uses natural language processing and supervised machine learning to automatically match top learning activities to each task. Built on AWS and supported by tools like Amazon SageMaker, AWS Batch, S3, and Python, the solution ingests Excel files and outputs a filtered list of best-matched activities. With SoftServe’s solution, SkillDirector reduced competency-based learning development time from 2 weeks to hours, increased service capacity, improved efficiency, and gained a stronger differentiation tool for winning new business.
