Case Study: Basic Income Academy launches a public resource directory and MVP with Softr

Tackling poverty by consolidating resources, fostering connections, and empowering change-makers globally

Basic Income Academy, a non-profit focused on knowledge management for the basic income ecosystem, needed a way to consolidate scattered research, initiatives, and resources into one public-facing directory. Founder Tom Krumins was looking for a solution that could sit on top of his existing Airtable database and make the information more accessible to the public. Softr provided the app-building layer for the project.

Using Softr with Airtable, Basic Income Academy launched an MVP quickly and turned its database into a searchable resource hub. The platform is already drawing interest from academics, practitioners, foundations, elected officials, and other advocates, and Softr plans for the app include memberships, courses, job boards, and marketplaces. By removing information silos and crowdsourcing resources, Softr helped Basic Income Academy move from idea to action and create a tool supporting change-makers working to fight poverty worldwide.
