How Baumit launched a merchandise ordering system for 100+ employees

Baumit, a leading European building materials company, needed a better way for 100+ employees to order branded merchandise and workwear while staying within assigned budget limits. The company turned to Softr and partner Harald Palma to replace a difficult custom-built system and explore an option that could support logged-in users, personalized dashboards, and order controls that standard e-commerce tools couldn’t handle.

Using Softr with Airtable, Harald built a custom internal ordering app with filtered shop views, shopping cart and budget tracking, admin controls, dynamic packaging calculations, and branded PDF order summaries sent by email. The Softr-built system enabled over 100 employees to place 2,500+ orders in five weeks, with more than €600,000 worth of merchandise ordered, while giving admins full visibility and control over budgets and order flows.
