SparkCognition, a cloud information security company, needed scalable, robust infrastructure to build its cognitive security platform, MindSpark, and its Cognitive Security Insights (CSI) application. To meet those demands, it turned to SoftLayer’s Catalyst startup program and SoftLayer servers to support its cloud-based security workloads.

SoftLayer provided a flexible mix of virtual and bare metal servers, along with expert guidance, enabling SparkCognition to run data ingestion, NLP, predictive analytics, and big data systems with strong performance and control. With SoftLayer, SparkCognition launched out of stealth in April 2014 and won IBM’s Innovate App Throwdown 2014 Competition, gaining a competitive advantage and a stable path for growth.
