A Softeq Case Study
A startup building hardware and software add-ons for tablets developed a wireless attachable gadget based on Apple’s Magic Trackpad to enable back-of-device touch input and wanted to project a virtual hand image onto the screen; they engaged Softeq for Android and middleware development to modify drivers and implement this overlay capability.
Softeq modified the Magic Trackpad driver to present the gadget as a touch screen, built middleware to capture and analyze motion events, determine finger touch points, and render a virtual hand overlay (tested on a Nexus 7). The result: Softeq’s implementation lets the gadget’s touch-screen features and virtual hand projection work across any Android application, overcoming OS limits on external event capture.
