A Softeq Case Study
A Russian mobile service and content provider engaged SOFTEQ after an external vendor failed to deliver a workable secure messenger for the company’s top managers. The customer needed an XMPP-driven, multiplatform (Android/iOS) messaging app with reliable delivery and asymmetric (public-key) encryption, and SOFTEQ was brought in to improve and enhance the existing product.
SOFTEQ substantially rewrote the low-quality codebase, implemented client-side reliable delivery to work around server restrictions, and added features such as message encryption and a fake-contact messaging option. The result was a stable Android build (previously crashing on launch), a successfully submitted iOS app after eight prior rejections, deployment to a local server, and ongoing enhancements and support from SOFTEQ.
