A Softeq Case Study
NunoErin needed a rapid proof-of-concept that could integrate embedded software into a smart furniture piece for an imminent showcase at HD Expo 2015. They selected SOFTEQ for its deep embedded-programming expertise to build a 17" LED-enabled tabletop prototype using technologies like Raspberry Pi, Android and Bluetooth to meet tight deadlines and showcase interactive guest experiences in the Entertainment and HoReCa industries.
SOFTEQ delivered a working prototype that displays tweets and images, detects human presence to play greetings, and supports multiuser games by pairing users’ mobile devices over Bluetooth (users control a preinstalled Pong via Android phones while the Raspberry Pi drives the LED panels). SOFTEQ shipped the solution in time for HD Expo 2015, creating an engaging sensory experience for guests; satisfied with the pilot, NunoErin expanded the collaboration and commissioned the next sensor-panel smart furniture to use LCD technology.
