Redefining User Experience In Mobile Digital Imaging

NVIDIA Corporation engaged Softeq to develop NVIDIA’s Camera App for Android smartphones, a reference implementation optimized for the Tegra 4 processor to showcase next‑generation mobile imaging (up to 90 MP processing and always‑on HDR). NVIDIA needed low‑level processor–device integration, an iOS‑like user experience on Android, and a sophisticated feature set delivered under a tight six‑month deadline while working with incomplete APIs and no retail devices.

Softeq built the camera app from scratch, delivering an optimized Tegra 4 implementation with always‑on HDR photo/video, persistent tap‑to‑track, advanced autofocus/autoexposure controls, burst/interval/timer modes, a 5‑second video buffer, and built‑in editing and social sharing. Softeq met the aggressive timeline and technical constraints, producing a high‑performance reference solution that enabled NVIDIA’s imaging platform adoption by device manufacturers and demonstrated measurable capabilities (Tegra 4 optimization, up to 90 MP processing and always‑on HDR).
