Redefining The Live Show Experience With A Wirelessly Controlled Led Lighting Device

BlinkFX, a producer of a patent‑pending entertainment system for live events, needed a partner to build a wirelessly controlled, wearable LED device that would integrate with industry‑standard lighting systems. Facing a tight three‑month timeline to launch at SXSW and a major concert (Doritos Bold Stage), BlinkFX engaged Softeq for its electrical design and firmware expertise to develop the wrist‑mountable Wink device and supporting IR DMX controller.

Softeq designed and delivered the Wink LED disc and IR DMX controllers that translate DMX‑512 commands into proprietary IR packets (4–12 bytes) to control devices wirelessly, including up to 16 individual groups. Delivered on the aggressive schedule, the solution was easy to set up, cost‑competitive, and has been used successfully at multiple shows; Softeq’s implementation enabled rapid market entry for BlinkFX’s affordable, scalable wearable lighting system.
