A Softeq Case Study
A startup company wanted to launch an AR-powered, Pokémon Go–like recommendation app for venues and events, with a PoC iOS app to test in London and demo to investors at Web Summit Lisbon. They needed an experienced iOS/AR team to research ARKit and build the prototype within two months, and selected Softeq to deliver the ARKit-powered native iOS PoC.
Softeq implemented a location-based social recommendation app combining ARKit, Apple Maps/Google Places (MapKit), CoreLocation and analytical algorithms so users can place clickable Pins with optimized photo/video content, view graphically rich AR Pins overlaid on real-world places, filter recommendations, message friends, integrate Facebook and earn gamified ratings. To mitigate GPS limitations Softeq mapped a virtual AR coordinate system to real-world positioning; the team delivered the PoC in under two months and the client presented it at Web Summit, enabling the next phase of backend and neural-network analytics development.
