A Softeq Case Study
The customer, a group of technology and software engineering companies providing platforms for social discovery, personal development and online entertainment, needed a Unity-driven iOS client-server dating app that used gamification and analytics to boost user engagement and retention. They engaged SOFTEQ to produce the game design (GDD) and then handle art and full development on a tight timeline, with requirements to support iOS, Unity, protocol buffers and integration with analytics/optimization tools like Leanplum and to meet a 10,000 PCU benchmark.
SOFTEQ implemented the solution using iOS, Unity, Java and MySQL, encoding client-server traffic with Google Protocol Buffers, integrating Leanplum for targeted in-app messages and push notifications, and delivering server-side features (core game mechanics, in-app purchase validation, photo storage, subscriber management) plus analytics logging over 60 events. The app’s match‑3 gamification, Facebook invites and analytics-enabled workflows were delivered on schedule and met the 10,000 peak concurrent users target, providing the customer with measurable analytics and optimization capabilities to improve engagement and retention — all delivered by SOFTEQ.
