New Tech For Trick Recognition & Custom Metadata Application

A world's leading microprocessor manufacturer engaged SOFTEQ to build a multiplatform proof-of-concept mobile app to test new technologies for trick recognition and custom metadata application. The customer needed a partner with deep mobile platform and hardware–software integration expertise to process sensor data, render video with graph overlays and trick detection, and support Android, iOS and UWP deployments.

SOFTEQ delivered the POC across Windows/Windows Phone, iOS and Android, upgrading it to a Universal Windows Platform app; integrations included an XBee transceiver, a custom wrapper around the Microsoft data reader for correct data chunking, and MonoGame modifications to enable transparent video overlays. The app supports sensor pairing, video capture with sensor-driven graphs and trick identification, and export with overlaid metadata — the project was completed on time and on budget, validating the customer’s technologies and providing a solid foothold for their targeted sports application.
