An entertainment-industry client needed a way to automatically detect music genres from song lyrics. SOFTEQ was engaged to prototype a Node.js application integrating machine learning (Amazon Machine Learning) to process lyrics and classify genres, working on a fixed-price engagement.

SOFTEQ delivered a proof‑of‑concept that included a custom data model and a music-genre detection algorithm to ensure smooth lyrics processing with Amazon Machine Learning; the PoC enabled automatic genre classification and validated the approach for production rollout. SOFTEQ’s solution also set the stage for planned enhancements, such as Telegram bot integration.
