Motion Recognition With Real-Time Activity Data Overlays

One of the world’s top semiconductor chip makers engaged Softeq to transform a proof‑of‑concept for a homegrown motion‑recognition platform and puck‑style sensor device into a fully functional demo mobile app. The customer’s brief was to showcase the platform’s BLE/RF connectivity, trick and move recognition, full‑HD video capture and real‑time activity overlays, so they tapped Softeq for low‑level programming, mobility and hardware‑to‑software integration expertise.

Softeq developed a paired solution combining the device’s advanced compute module, 9‑axis sensor and GPS with a mobile app that streams sensor data over BLE/RF to produce synchronized HD video, real‑time speed calculations, trick recognition, 3D spin models, data charts as overlays and external camera support—addressing large‑data filtering and UWP limitations with a customized algorithm and iterative delivery. The prototype was validated in real‑world testing by a pro surfer and publicly showcased at the customer’s development conference, demonstrating the solution’s viability and readiness for further productization.
