Monitors Printer Ink Level, Generates Automatic Shipment Requests

Softeq partnered with a major producer of computer peripherals to build a modular, web‑based Ink Replenishment Program (IRP). The customer needed a turnkey system to monitor printer ink levels and automatically generate refill shipments; Softeq was engaged to develop the IRP core app, create multiple functional modules, and integrate them with retailer sites, vendor SAP and other external systems while coordinating distributed teams across three time zones.

Softeq implemented the IRP core app and modules (Registration, Activation, Monitoring, Ordering, Administration), used SAP Process Orchestration proxy protocol for integration, and connected the solution to five external systems plus a monitoring agent so desktop agents forward automatic shipment requests when ink runs low. The deployment automated the replenishment workflow (orders billed only at shipment), was delivered via Extreme Programming/Agile/Kanban practices, and achieved client satisfaction—prompting the customer to task Softeq with additional retailer integration work.
