Manages Multiple Lights Locations, Stores Custom Settings For Each User

The customer, a manufacturer of smart home automation products, LED lighting and electronics, needed to replace an RF remote for their RGBW outdoor lights with a Bluetooth Low Energy mobile app that would support multiple users, secure access, two-way communication and mesh-capable connectivity. They engaged SOFTEQ for its proven experience building lighting-control apps, firmware and hardware-linked mobile solutions.

SOFTEQ built a Xamarin-based Android and iOS app that connects to the light-string controller via Bluetooth, offering per-user PIN pairing, Google Firebase authentication and cloud sync, offline operation, and features like multi-location/group management, color/mode selection, scheduling, and two-way status updates. By using Firebase to store profiles and settings (overcoming device flash limits), SOFTEQ replaced the RF remote, enabled custom user settings and reliable scheduling, and improved manageability while paving the way for broader product compatibility.
