Improved Performance & Feature Configurability For Multiple Device Versions

Evoluent, the inventor of the VerticalMouse, needed an update to the driver-enabled functionality of its flagship ergonomic mouse so the latest hardware could run reliably across Windows platforms. The customer sought a provider with low-level Windows driver expertise to upgrade kernel-mode drivers, improve configurability, and ensure the device met Windows 10 trust/signature requirements — a scope Softeq was engaged to deliver.

Softeq adapted and refactored the existing Windows drivers and the Evoluent Mouse Manager so the new device version runs on Windows XP, 7, 8 and 10, optimized performance and feature configurability, and submitted the kernel-mode driver for attestation on the Microsoft Hardware Development Portal to obtain a Windows signature. The team validated the driver across three mouse versions and 32-/64-bit platforms (20+ test configurations) in a dedicated lab; the result was an attested, higher-performing, multi-version solution and a satisfied customer now discussing further enhancements with Softeq.
