Hempel, a global coatings supplier, needed a mobile solution to help field planners, engineers and maintenance staff make faster, better-informed coating decisions during facility inspections. Softeq was engaged to build an iOS client–server survey app to enable on-the-fly information gathering, server-based data processing and report generation.

Softeq delivered an iOS app that supports detailed surveys with photo upload and comments, sends data to a web server for processing, and returns PDF reports with recommended coating systems; a web-based admin area manages incoming surveys and authentication is integrated with Hempel ADFS. Built under a fixed-price, Waterfall engagement, the solution was delivered to the customer’s expectations and is expected to boost employee productivity and improve on-the-go decision-making through rapid, actionable reporting.
