American Messaging Service (AMS), a U.S. provider of critical messaging to medical professionals, needed a fail-safe pager-to-PC solution and a silent installer that would never disrupt end users. They engaged SOFTEQ to build a custom Windows-based pager driver and background installation process, requiring deep low-level driver expertise and rigorous quality to avoid any risk of errors in medical settings.

SOFTEQ implemented a USB-recognized driver that leverages Windows Update to install the driver, download pager-specific software from AMS’s server, and perform the software setup entirely in the background. The driver passed Microsoft’s WHQL testing, earned "Certified for Windows" status, and is published in the Microsoft Update Catalog in three versions (Windows 64-bit, Windows 32-bit, and Windows 8.1+ 64-bit); SOFTEQ delivered the project on time and on budget, making certified downloads available to AMS subscribers.
