A Softeq Case Study
Microsoft HoloLens needed an immersive, markerless AR tower‑defense game that leveraged Unity and Windows Mixed Reality while using hand gestures as controls. Softeq developed HoloDefense for the Microsoft HoloLens platform, meeting the challenge of placing realistic 3D game objects into a scanned room and enabling natural interaction via HoloLens hand gestures.
Softeq implemented room scanning (up to 40 m²) to build a live 3D model, deployed high‑polygon animated assets, used NVIDIA PhysX for realistic physics, and added spatial stereo sound. The solution includes a cloud‑hosted JSON config with 96 game settings for real‑time balancing (no rebuilds required), delivering a highly immersive experience with fast designer iteration and robust mixed‑reality tracking.
