Faster Event Attendees Admission With Online/Offline Data Processing

SOFTEQ worked with a provider of nationwide digital signage networks, intelligent visitor information systems, and visitor management solutions for international trade fairs and events to address slow, manual admission processes. The customer engaged SOFTEQ to build a client–server Android ticket verification app (installable on custom handheld devices) that would speed attendee admission and capture participant data for analysis.

SOFTEQ implemented an Android app that scans 40+ code types (QR, Data Matrix, ITF, etc.), supports online and offline verification via a precompiled verification library, transmits background batch data to a backend server with SSL, and reports device status via a heartbeat. The solution, delivered using Agile sprints, was successfully test-driven at an international event in Cologne, Germany, resulting in faster attendee admission and reliable offline operation, and the client reported satisfaction with the delivered system.
