A Softeq Case Study
An entertainment corporation with a worldwide network of theme parks and vacation resorts engaged SOFTEQ to modernize its decade-old assistive listening and captioning device. The legacy solution had reached software scalability limits and the hardware was obsolete, so the customer asked SOFTEQ to develop a more scalable, Android-based application that could run on custom rugged handheld devices and be customized without rebuilding.
SOFTEQ delivered an Android app and desktop authoring tool that runs on a custom handheld (IR transceivers, FM receiver, tactile buttons, custom dock), with XML-configurable UI, GPS/IR-based location triggers, kiosk mode, SD-based resource management, and precise show synchronization (meeting the 1/30s requirement). The solution passed the customer’s strict acceptance process, is intended for deployment across all the customer’s parks and resorts, and will serve millions of multinational guests worldwide, with the customer’s engineering team reporting high satisfaction with SOFTEQ’s deliveries.
