A Softeq Case Study
Softeq worked with a globally diversified oilfield products company that was losing production time because data recorded in a drill bit’s internal 4 GB NAND flash could only be extracted during a 30-minute tool-change window. The customer needed an embedded-software specialist to optimize low-level NAND timing and network transfer using an embedded TCP/IP stack (lwIP) to reduce drilling equipment downtime.
Softeq implemented NAND flash subsystem initialization and fine-tuning, network initialization with DHCP, and optimized the embedded lwIP TCP/IP stack and client application while working in Scrum sprints. As a result, data transfer time dropped to 11 minutes — a 300% improvement — significantly reducing equipment downtime; the customer has since engaged Softeq for stabilization and granted access to proprietary IP.
