Defining Drug Intoxication By Pupil Size

A startup company offering healthcare security services engaged Softeq to validate and build a novel Android solution that detects drug intoxication by measuring pupil size. The client needed proof of concept, end-to-end development and tech support up to a Google Play launch for a mobile Client-Server Eye Scanning app implemented in Java/Android.

Softeq implemented a full-cycle solution featuring a custom pupil-size detection algorithm, flashlight and camera capture, and a server-side analysis module (EyeScan) that compares measured pupil diameter against normal parameters (3.0–6.5 mm) and immediately pushes results to the device. The app includes subscription tiers (60–500 scans or unlimited), optional password protection, and was developed using Agile methods; Softeq completed the project on budget, met the timeline, and managed the Google Play launch.
