A Softeq Case Study
A US‑based aviation consultancy engaged Softeq to develop the Flight Operations Tracker, an iOS application for logging flight information for small commuter and cargo airlines. The customer's legacy system required a physical wired connection to upload device data, so they needed a modern iOS/Objective‑C solution that would operate online and offline, preserve data when disconnected, and integrate with the existing backend database.
Softeq delivered an iPhone app with validated form-based data capture, local persistence for offline use, automatic delayed synchronization, and a custom Java servlet to stream CSV-formatted records into the legacy backend (technologies: iOS, Objective‑C, Java). The result was a fully operational Flight Operations Tracker that removed the wired-upload constraint, prevented data loss during network outages, produced Excel-ready month‑by‑month reports for FAR compliance, and now supports individual aircraft owners, corporate flight departments, charter operators and flying clubs under FAR parts 91, 135 and small 121.
