The Messaging Company worked with Softeq to build a deep learning-powered chatbot for a major messenger, but needed a fast, natural-language experience for users asking sports game questions. The challenge was to handle freeform queries, deliver accurate player and team information, and keep response times extremely low for a large messaging audience.

Softeq implemented the chatbot using Microsoft LUIS, Azure Bot Service, and Microsoft Cognitive Services, along with a two-level caching setup using Redis, Microsoft SQL Server, Azure Cosmos DB, and Table Storage. As a result, the bot delivered responses in under 10 ms, provided game schedules, stats, and injury alerts, and collected request analytics to surface community trends, with a modular design that can be adapted for other sports or domains.
