A Softeq Case Study
The customer, a developer of telecommunications products for fixed, mobile and IP operators’ networks, needed a reliable partner to build a VoIP-driven mobile business app for employees of a leading Russian telco and later its customers. They engaged SOFTEQ to provide mobile and VoIP expertise to create a Linphone-based SIP client for Android and iOS offering Internet-based calls, SMS exchange and contacts management to improve convenience, speed and cost-efficiency.
SOFTEQ developed the SIP client using Linphone and XMPP, implementing audio calls, instant messaging, picture/file sharing, account setup, address book, call history, advanced call statistics, QoS and secure communications (TLS/SRTP/ZRTP where applicable). SOFTEQ completed the mobile portion of the project and handed it to the client for further feature expansion and stabilization; once finished the app will be installed on corporate smartphones across the customer’s leading distribution network and later provided to its bonus-card customers, reducing reliance on mobile networks and improving communication speed, cost and user experience.
