A Mobile One-Stop Lighting Equipment Orchestration Dashboard

Gantom, a manufacturer of special effects lighting equipment for the themed attraction industry, engaged Softeq to build a mobile version of its hardware programmer: the DMX Console iOS app. The goal was to let users configure and control a network of DMX‑compatible lighting devices (up to 512 connected devices) from an iPhone instead of a traditional DMX control unit.

Softeq developed the DMX Console to allow per‑fixture setup of properties like brightness, color and effects and to perform real‑time data exchange by converting manipulated audio output into RS‑485 serial signals via the phone’s audio port. Built using a Waterfall process and delivered to the App Store, the Softeq solution enabled one‑stop, on‑the‑move orchestration, improved individual device control, and supported Gantom’s ability to expand its product and service offerings.
