Howzer, a US provider of interactive solutions that combine high-definition video with modern user-interface design, needed a mobile partner to expand into immersive eLearning/edutainment for aspiring cooks featuring celebrity chefs. Seeking strong iOS and multimedia experience, Howzer engaged SOFTEQ to build a professional-grade platform and a set of highly interactive cooking apps.
SOFTEQ developed an underlying iOS platform and two apps — “Baking with Dorie!” and “Joanne Weir’s Cooking Confidence: Appetizers” — delivering HD step-by-step video lessons, multiple recipe views (Cookbook, StepView, SpinView, ChartView), social sharing, advanced shopping lists, and resilient large-video download support. The apps were featured in the App Store’s “New and Noteworthy” Food & Drinks section, and “Baking with Dorie!” won a Gourmand Award and a Best of the Best honor at the Frankfurt Book Fair, demonstrating SOFTEQ’s measurable impact on Howzer’s product rollout and market recognition.
