Shenandoah University’s Transformational Migration to Etrieve by Softdocs™

Shenandoah University, a nationally recognized liberal arts institution in Winchester, Virginia, was struggling with paper-heavy processes, limited visibility into workflows, and a Java-dependent content system that created friction for students and staff. With its existing e-forms platform capped by restrictive pricing and its document management environment becoming harder to maintain, the university needed a more modern, mobile-friendly solution. Softdocs helped Shenandoah move to Etrieve Forms, Etrieve Flow, and later Etrieve Content.

Softdocs implemented a cloud-based, browser-friendly Etrieve platform that integrated with Ellucian Colleague and replaced ImageNow for content management, improving access, tracking, and workflow visibility across campus. Shenandoah created nearly 50 e-forms in the first 18 months, expanded the system across multiple departments, and reduced IT overhead by moving ECM to the cloud. Users embraced the new interface quickly, with feedback highlighting its ease of use and better document handling.
