Case Study: Harrison County Board of Education streamlines workflows and goes paperless with Softdocs Etrieve

A Softdocs Case Study

Preview of the Harrison County Board of Education Case Study

Harrison County Schools migrated from So˜docs’ legacy ECM products, Doc e Fill and Doc e Scan, as well as assorted third-party solutions to Etrieve

Harrison County Board of Education, serving about 11,000 students in West Virginia, was struggling with paper-heavy approval processes and gaps left by its state ERP system, WVEIS. After first implementing Softdocs’ legacy Doc e Fill and Doc e Scan products in 2013, the district looked for a more flexible way to automate workflows and reduce manual routing across finance and personnel operations.

Softdocs implemented the Etrieve ECM Platform, along with Serve by Softdocs, to digitize forms, automate approvals, and streamline distribution of purchase orders and receipts. The district reduced paper usage, improved audit readiness with online records and activity logs, and expanded workflow capabilities with features like graphical workflow design and parallel processes. Harrison County Board of Education also reported that Etrieve was easier for staff to use and is now being expanded into additional processes, potentially replacing other third-party programs.
