From scanning and snail mail to collaborative champions

Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC), a two-campus institution serving eight counties in Iowa, struggled with paper-heavy processes, lack of centralized collaboration, and the inefficiency of moving documents by mail, drive, or scattered network folders. Working with Softdocs, NICC initially implemented the Doc e Suite products, including Doc e Scan, Doc e Fill, and Doc e Serve, to help replace makeshift paper handling with a more modern electronic content framework.

Softdocs helped NICC centralize documents, streamline student services, HR, business office, and nursing workflows, and reduce human error while improving security and turnaround times. The college later upgraded to Etrieve Content and planned to roll out Etrieve Forms and Flow for even stronger workflow and mobile access. As a result, audits became smoother, financial aid processing moved online, and staff spent less time tracking paper and more time serving students; NICC also reported that support from Softdocs was consistently effective and that the transformation has made the school a model for ECM use.
